How soon can I start my course?

Right away! As soon as you make your card payment you will have access to the online materials. Your charts and books will be posted to you first class or courier and should arrive within a few days.

What extras must I buy to complete the course?

None. The Splash price is fully inclusive.

What happens to the books I get when I’ve finished the course?

They are yours to keep and will be a great future reference source.

Do I get a certificate at the end of my course?

Yes. You will get an RYA Shorebased Course completion certificate for whichever course you have enrolled - providing you demonstrate that you have the required knowledge.

How long do I get to complete my course?

We encourage all our students to complete within 12 months. There is currently no charge for extending this period with Splash if it becomes necessary.

How are the assessments done on the Splash theory course?

There are two assessments on the Day Skipper Course – one is the General Paper which is completed and marked online. The other Chartwork paper requires you to send your plots in for marking – this can either be by posting your chart in, or by scanning and e-mailing the images to your tutor.

The Yachtmaster course has two online papers – Meteorology and Collision Regulations then the third Chartwork paper which is submitted for marking as for Dayskipper.

The Basic Navigation course has no formal assessment, and certificate award is based on tutor assessment.
